Terms of Service
These Terms of Service govern your use of Future Me. By creating an account, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.
1. About Future Me
Future Me is a personal life-tracking tool operated by Future Me ("we", "us", "our"). The service allows you to manually record and visualise your financial goals, health metrics, fitness activity, and personal milestones in one place.
Future Me is a tracking and planning tool only. It is not a financial adviser, investment platform, medical device, or health professional. Nothing in this service constitutes financial advice, investment advice, tax advice, legal advice, or medical advice.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use Future Me. By creating an account you confirm that you meet this requirement. If you are between 16 and 18, you confirm you have the consent of a parent or guardian where required by your local law.
3. Your account
You are responsible for:
- Keeping your login credentials secure and confidential
- All activity that occurs under your account
- Notifying us immediately at legal@future-me.app if you suspect unauthorised access
You may not share your account with others or create accounts on behalf of third parties.
4. Accuracy of your data
Future Me shows you the picture you paint. The accuracy of projections, goal tracking, and dashboards depends entirely on the figures you enter. We do not connect to your bank, brokerage, or any financial institution, and we do not verify the information you provide.
Not financial or medical advice. Projections, net worth calculations, calorie estimates, and any other outputs from Future Me are for personal planning purposes only. They are not a substitute for advice from a qualified financial adviser, accountant, doctor, or dietitian. Always seek professional advice before making significant financial or health decisions.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use Future Me for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the service or another user's account
- Scrape, copy, or extract data from the service by automated means
- Introduce malware, viruses, or other harmful code
- Reverse engineer or decompile any part of the service
- Use the service to store or transmit content that is illegal, harmful, or violates the rights of others
6. Intellectual property
All content, design, code, and materials in Future Me — excluding the data you enter — are owned by or licensed to Future Me. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the service without our written consent.
You retain full ownership of all data you enter into Future Me. By using the service, you grant us a limited licence to process and store that data solely to provide the service to you.
7. Service availability and security
We aim to provide a reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may suspend or modify the service for maintenance, security, or other operational reasons, with or without notice where circumstances require.
SSL / encrypted connections: All connections to Future Me are secured using TLS 1.2 or higher (HTTPS). We enforce HTTPS across the entire application — unencrypted HTTP connections are not permitted. SSL certificates are managed automatically and renewed without interruption to the service.
We reserve the right to discontinue Future Me with reasonable notice. In the event of discontinuation, we will give you the opportunity to export your data before the service closes.
8. Application updates
Future Me is a living product. We release updates on an ongoing basis to improve the service, fix issues, and introduce new features. Updates fall into two categories:
- Major releases — up to four times per year, major updates may introduce significant new features, redesigned sections, or changes to how existing features work. Where a major update materially changes your experience, we will notify you by email in advance where possible.
- Ongoing minor updates — released continuously throughout the year, these cover bug fixes, performance improvements, security patches, and small UX refinements. Minor updates are deployed without notice and are designed to be seamless — you will not need to take any action.
As a web application, updates take effect automatically the next time you load Future Me. There is nothing to install or download.
We make every effort to ensure updates do not disrupt your data or workflow. In the rare event that a planned update requires a brief maintenance window, we will communicate this in advance where possible.
If an update changes how we handle your personal data in a way that requires your consent or notice under applicable privacy law, we will notify you separately and update our Privacy Policy accordingly.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
- Future Me is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied
- We are not liable for any financial losses, health outcomes, or other consequences arising from your use of or reliance on the service
- Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising from these terms or the service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (or £50 if you have paid nothing)
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
10. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Future Me from any claims, losses, damages, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your breach of these terms or your use of the service.
11. Third-party services and links
Future Me may display links to third-party resources, tools, or platforms (such as investment brokers, fitness apps, or financial resources). These links are provided for your convenience only. We do not endorse, control, or take responsibility for any third-party content or service. Your use of any third-party service is governed by that party's own terms.
Some links in the Resources section may be referral or affiliate links. Where this is the case, we may earn a commission if you sign up or make a purchase. This does not affect the price you pay or our editorial independence in recommending resources.
12. Account termination
You may delete your account at any time via Settings → Delete Account. Deletion is immediate and permanent — all your data is erased and cannot be recovered.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms, with or without prior notice depending on the severity of the breach. We will try to give you advance warning for non-urgent issues.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you by email of any material changes at least 14 days before they take effect. If you do not agree with the updated terms, you may delete your account before the effective date. Continued use after that date constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms or the service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except where applicable consumer protection law in your jurisdiction grants you additional rights that we are required to respect.
